Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash In Lisle

Police say a man was fatally hit by a car near Ogden and Yackley Avenues early Monday. The driver fled after the crash.

LISLE, IL — A pedestrian was fatally struck in a hit-and-run crash near Ogden and Yackley Avenues in Lisle early Monday.

Police got to the scene just after 5:45 a.m. to find a man unresponsive. The victim was taken to a local hospital and died of injuries sustained in the crash. As of 10:30 a.m. on Monday, the victim's name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

An investigation led police to learn the man had been fatally hit by a vehicle that drove off after the incident. No vehicle or driver description was available as of Monday morning. On Wednesday, police clarified that initial reports claimed the man had been hit by two cars, one of which fled.

DuPage County's MERIT Major Crash Reconstruction team assisted Lisle police in reconstructing the crash. Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has information to call the police department's investigations unit at 630-271-4200.
