Psychic Reading Business To Be Considered By Lisle Planning Commission

LISLE, IL —A public hearing will be held Wednesday for a special use permit that would allow fortune telling and psychic services to be sold at 1616 Ogden Ave.

Petitioner Rose Evans hopes to open her shop in part of the upper floor of the two-story building, where Lisle Dental Care and Ogden Buy and Sell currently occupy the first floor.

According to village documents, Evans has offered psychic reading at Psychic Readings by Mary, 4704 Main St., since 1999. Village documents show that four complaints were filed between 2002 and 2012 reporting that someone had been living at the premises.

Approval of Evans's requested special use permit would come with the condition that "no household living or other use is allowed," per village documents.

Evans has also agreed not to use illuminated signs at the 1616 Ogden Ave. location, if the special use permit request is approved. Per village documents, Evans said she will adhere to this condition.

Per the proposal, Evans would offer psychic and tarot readings between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. daily.

The public hearing will be held Nov. 19 at 7 p.m.
