LISLE, IL — The village board is set to review an ordinance that would restructure the upper ranks of the Lisle Police Department. The ordinance, which would add commanders and increase the number of sergeants on the force, will be presented at the Nov. 3 village meeting.

Currently, village code calls for one police chief, two deputy chiefs and five sergeants. The proposed changes would require just one deputy chief, but would add two commander roles and increase the village's number of sergeants to seven.

The police department's commanders would rank just below the deputy chief.
