LISLE, IL — An upcoming visit to Lisle by the Illinois Secretary of State's mobile unit has been canceled.

The cancellation comes amid limited access to mobile units as the deadline for REAL IDs approaches. The Illinois Secretary of State will not deploy its mobile units as the May 7 deadline approaches, per an update from the Village of Lisle.

Once the REAL ID's phased-in enforcement is effective by 2027, United States residents who are 18 or older will be required to present a REAL ID, a passport or other identification that has been federally approved prior to taking a domestic flight or going into federal buildings.
