The child was taken to a local hospital after being found unconscious and not breathing Monday afternoon.

BANNOCKBURN, IL — A child just shy of 2 years old who drowned in a residential indoor swimming pool in Lake County earlier this week has been identified as a Peotone boy.

An autopsy for Noah Probst, 1 year and 10 months, was conducted Tuesday by the Lake County Coroner's Office, with results indicating his death was consistent with drowning.

At around 2 p.m. Monday, the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District and Bannockburn Police Department responded to the 1900 block of Half Day Road for a report of a drowning in a residential indoor pool. Emergency crews arrived and began trying to resuscitate the child, who had been pulled from the pool, and who was unconscious and not breathing.
