Police ID 3 Men Killed In Two-Vehicle Collision In Manhattan Township
All three men were from Plainfield. Three more people were taken to an area hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.
MANHATTAN TOWNSHIP, IL — Illinois State Police released the names of three men killed in a two-vehicle, head-on collision Saturday in Manhattan Township.
Giosan Garay, 21; Juan J. Bernal, 21; and Jesus Martinez, 24, all from Plainfield were killed when a 2013 Toyota Camry, driven by Garay, crossed into the northbound lane of U.S. Route 52 at Baker Road and collided head-on with a 2015 Jeep Wrangler that was traveling northbound, according to ISP.
Garay was airlifted to an area hospital and pronounced dead, police said.

Bernal and Martinez were both passengers in the Camry, police said. They were pronounced dead at the scene, according to ISP.
The three people in the Wrangler — who were identified as a man, a woman and a boy — were all taken to an area hospital with serious to life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police responded at approximately 10:25 p.m. Saturday to the crash, according to ISP.
Police closed U.S. Route 52 at Baker Road to investigate the crash, according to ISP. The road was reopened at approximately 3 a.m., police said.
