Controlled Burn Scheduled For Wednesday In Mokena: Village

MOKENA, IL — The Village of Mokena notified residents that a controlled burn is scheduled to take place Wednesday by a contractor at the Cheery Street Pond basin in the area north of Willow Lane and east of Cherry Street.

The burn is scheduled to begin around 11:30 a.m. and will last for several hours, according to the Village.

Mokena Fire Protection District staff will be monitoring the burn to ensure the safety of residents in the area surrounding the burn site.
