Free Senior Luncheon To Offer Tips For Staying Safe In Hot Weather

The Mokena Fire Protection District is scheduled to host the event May 16.

MOKENA, IL — It may seem inconceivable now, but the high temperatures of summer will be headed our way soon enough. The Mokena Fire Protection District will host a free senior luncheon to help seniors with tips on how to beat the heat and stay safe.

The luncheon is scheduled to be held at 10:30 a.m. May 16 at Station No. 1, 19853 Wolf Road in Mokena.

According to weather forecasters at AccuWeather, Illinois could see anywhere from 18-24 days with temperatures reaching 90 degrees or higher this summer. In 2021, Chicago had 22 days when temps hit 90 degrees or above.
