Mokena's Strong Investment in Streets Continues, Officials Say

Several construction repair projects will soon be under way.

Positive competitive bid outcomes, coupled with the village’s strong and sound financial position, will make the following possible.

  • Approximately 9,200 square feet of sidewalks will be replaced and repaired, along with 650 lineal feet of curbs and gutters.
  • Approximately 69,000 lineal feet of roadway cracks will be routed and sealed to help extend the life of existing asphalt pavement across town.
  • Another 4,000 square yards of asphalt streets will be patched.
  • An estimated 450 square yards of Wolf Road’s concrete pavement, along with 191st Street at LaGrange Road, will also be patched.
  • Just under 5 miles of road will be resurfaced, exceeding Mokena’s annual goal of 4 miles for the fifth consecutive summer. (For a listing of streets and roads scheduled for resurfacing, simply click on the link below.)

Maintenance activities are expected to begin moving forward next week.
