Second Free Leaf, Branch Pick Up In Mokena Scheduled For Wednesday

The Village of Mokena offers two free leaf and branch pick ups in the spring and two more free pick ups in the fall.

MOKENA, IL — The Village of Mokena's second and final free leaf and branch pick-up for spring is set for Wednesday, according to the Village.

Residents must contact the Village at (708) 479-3900 or via this link prior to the scheduled pick-up date to arrange for a pick up. Residents can also submit a request electronically by visiting the Village of Mokena website under "How Do I?"

Village staff will collect only bagged leaves and branches no longer than 4 feet in length. Regular refuse, such as grass clippings and yard waste, will not be collected as part of the free leaf and branch pick-up program.

Leaves may be bagged in either paper or plastic bags, although paper bags are preferred, according to the Village.

Branches should be tied with twine or string. A branch length of 3 feet or less is optimal.

Refuse toters or drum-type containers should not be used for leaves or branches.

The Village will offer two more free leaf and branch pick-ups in the fall.
