5 Cool Ways to Beat the Heat This Weekend
Don't sweat the high temperatures. We have some fun ideas for things to do around Naperville.

The heat this week was a bit challenging, to say the least. Being stuck indoors isn’t the most exciting way to spend days and nights. Not to mention that it’s easy to go stir crazy.
We have some ideas for some beat-the-heat fun, which will help keep your cool this weekend.
Ice cream blitz
Be careful, this could cause brain freeze or, maybe, just a lot of steam escaping from the top of your head. Trek to downtown Naperville where you can enjoy ice cream, gelato and frozen yogurt within the space of few blocks.

You can venture from spot to spot downtown, or just stay on Jefferson Avenue between Washington Street and Main Street. Should you venture to the surrounding streets, you can find yogurt at and frozen cookie dough at . Not to mention all the other ice cream shops around town.

Whether you want to spend some time with the kids or your friends, why not go bowling? Not a huge fan of those funky shoes? Then consider a friendly game or two of billiards. The rink opens up to the public from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Call first to make sure the rink hasn’t changed its schedule.

has some of the summer’s biggest blockbusters playing. If you haven’t seen the final installment of the Harry Potter series, here’s the perfect opportunity for some cool entertainment. If you are so over Harry, then there is Bad Teacher, Captain America, Cars 2, Friends with Benefits, Winnie the Pooh, Transformers, Larry Crowne, Zookeeper and Horrible Bosses. So many films to choose from, I bet you could spend an entire day inside the theater. Why not give it a try?
Dance the heat away
