Adopt Me!: Oreo, Charming, Salem and Jersey

These are just a few of the pets at area shelters waiting for a permanent home.

Oreo is a sensational, sweet-natured girl, who loves a good belly rub and will gladly thank you with kisses. Oreo aims to please and would love an opportunity in a new home with a family that has lots of love and affection to share with her. While Oreo is good with children, she will be at her best in a family with children over 6 years of age. Oreo is 1-year-old and weighs 53 pounds.

Charming is a sweet, older gent who still has a spring in his step. At first glance, he may seem a bit shy so he tends to fall under the radar for most people. However, being in a shelter after so many years takes a bit of getting used to. He is a gentle boy who takes comfort in the attention of humans. He would be perfect for someone who is looking for a companion animal who isn’t too much work.

Salem is an 8-year-old female, black domestic long hair. Salem was surrendered to when the young kids in her family became too much for her to handle and stress was making her sick. Now that she’s at the shelter, she’s enjoying the quieter environment as assisting in the office as one of our greeter cats. Salem would do best in a calm, quiet home with no young kids. She likes most other cats and doesn’t mind dogs either. Because Salem is a bit older, her adoption fee is only $50. If a senior is interested in adopting Salem, her adoption fee would be only $10. Please spread the word about this great kitty!

Jersey is a 6-year-old female Rottweiler mix that came to NAHS when her owner became ill. We thought we had found her a great home, but when her separation anxiety surfaced she ended up back at the shelter. Because she does have separation anxiety, Jersey will need a family who is rarely out of the house and who can help her work through her issues for when they need to leave. She can be a bit shy at first but once she gets to know somebody, she showers them with affection. Some dogs and small kids make her nervous, so a quiet home would be best. Do you have room in your heart for this gentle girl?
