Fryer Fire Temporarily Closes Naperville/Wheaton Road Wendy's
The restaurant was not open at the time of the fire on Monday morning.

Employees at on Naperville/Wheaton Road safely evacuated the restaurant after a fryer fire on Monday morning.
The restaurant was not open at the time of the fryer fire, said Tim Kaiser, the store’s manager. The location will remain closed for at least one day, until health department officials can re-inspect the restaurant. And, once it re-opens, fry lovers may be unable to order for a few days.
Firefighters responded to the fryer fire at about 8:50 am. The manager said he used a fire extinguisher to try and put out the fire.

“It was nothing major and they handled it well,” said Capt. Dave Ferreri, Battalion Chief, with the . “They used a fire extinguisher and we finished it [off].”
Because the spray foam in the fire extinguisher was used to put out the fire, the restaurant must be cleaned and re-inspected, Ferreri said.

Once responders left, the employees re-entered the building to start cleaning.
