Plainfield Special Ed Teacher Threw Chair at Child: Cops

The teacher no longer works for the school district, a spokesman said.

A Plainfield special education teacher threw a chair at a child, according to a criminal complaint filed in Will County court.

Nancy LeMoine, 52, allegedly threw the chair at the 7-year-old boy in April. The Naperville woman was charged with reckless conduct and assault, and is scheduled to appear in court next month.

The Joliet Police Department investigated the incident. The charge against LeMoine was filed Friday.

On her Linkedin page, LeMoine says she is a “Teacher of Special Ed.” atPlainfield School District 202.”

Plainfield School District spokesman Tom Hernandez said that is no longer the case.

“I can confirm she no longer works for the district, but beyond that it’s a personnel issue and I can’t comment,” Hernandez said.

In 2011, the district honored LeMoine for her work at Wesmere Elementary School during its Annual Awards of Excellence event.

“Nancy works every day with students who are behaviorally and academically challenging,” LeMoine’s coworkers wrote about her. “She does this with ease and confidence and has a true love for what she does.”
