Police Blotter: Fighting, Vehicle Burglaries and a Neighborhood Argument

The Naperville Police Department reports for Oct. 7-9.

Friday, Oct. 7

Warrant arrest

Nicholas Stephen Fulmer, 24, of the 1100 block of Redwood Drive, Yorkville, was arrested at 12:26 a.m. in the 0 block of Jackson Avenue, where police said he was charged on two failure to appear warrants from DuPage County. His bail was $15,000.

Suspended license

Crispin Escalona, 30, of the 600 block of Bluebird Drive, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 1:49 a.m. at South Washington Street and Ford Lane, police said. He was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license. 

Theft

  • A 51-year-old man in the 900 block of Royal Saint George Drive reported that between 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 7:17 a.m. Friday someone broke a passenger-side window and stole an iPod from the center console, police said.
  • An employee reported that two people entered a store and a female put two bottles of liquor in an empty purse and attempted to leave the store, police said. The employee chased the woman outside the store and she dropped the purse. The woman and a man left in a vehicle.

Criminal damage

  • A 47-year-old man in the 2300 block of 95th Street reported that his vehicle was keyed while parked in a school parking lot, police said.
  • A 43-year-old woman in the 700 block of Prairie Avenue found four college-aged men inside her garage at 11:35 p.m., police said. One of the men was later identified and arrested.
Saturday, Oct. 8

Harassment

Jason Matthew Patrick, 39 of the 1400 block of Aberdeen Court, Aurora, was arrested at 12:21 a.m. in the 2700 block of Wendy Drive, where he was charged with telephone harassment, police said. His bail was $1,500.

Driving under the influence of alcohol

  • Jorge Hernandez-Sanchez, 21, of the 900 block of Alyce Lane, Aurora, was arrested at 3:15 a.m. at North Route 59 and East I-88, where he was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, disobeying a traffic control signal, driving without a license and illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a driver, police said. His bail was $3,000.
  • Quy Thanh Dang, 33, of the 4700 block of Lake Trail Drive, Lisle, was arrested at 10:13 p.m. at East Diehl Road and Center Point Circle, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use. His bail was $3,000.
  • Janice Baxter, 52, of the 2200 block of University Drive, was arrested at 8:47 p.m. in the 900 block of West 75th Street and Plainfield-Naperville Road, police said. She was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to give a signal, improper lane use and driving without insurance. Her bail was $3,000.
  • George Gary Konn, 28, of the 24 West 600 block of Wellington Avenue, was arrested at 11:36 p.m. at North River Road and West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on the wrong side of a divided road, improper plate/permit display and illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a driver. His bail was $3,000.
  • Corey Ryan Strange, 21, of the 8200 block of South Sheridan, Westminster, Colo. was arrested at 2:37 a.m. at 14th Avenue and North Loomis Street, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to give a signal, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, less than 2.5 grams and driving without insurance.

Suspended license

Ramses Jimenez, 20, of the 1200 block of Coventry Place, Aurora, was arrested at East New York Street and South Route 59, police said. He was charged with driving without insurance and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $2,000.

Battery

  • Carlos Javier Contreras, 26, of the 500 block of Harwood Street, Joliet, was arrested at 12:50 a.m. in the 10 block of West Chicago Avenue, where police said he was charged with battery. His bail was $1,500.
  • Zachary Drew Pederson, 28, of the 1100 block of Lillian Lane, West Chicago, was arrested at 1:02 a.m. in the 0 block of West Jefferson Avenue, where police said he was charged with battery with the intent to commit bodily harm. He threw a bottle in the direction of people he was arguing with, according to police. The bottle hit a table and broke. A piece of the glass hit a victim in the hand causing a deep cut. His bail was $1,500.

Warrant arrest

Matthew David Seger, 41, of the 800 block of West Panorama Drive, Palatine, was arrested at 4:28 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged on a failure to appear warrant. His bail was $2,000.

Neighborhood trouble

A dispute occurred between neighbors in the 1600 block of Estate Circle, police said. The neighbors were arguing over whose child starts fights and uses foul language.

Criminal damage

A 64-year-old man in the 800 block of South Washington Street reported derogatory language being scratched into the rear hatch on the driver’s side of his vehicle with two swastikas above and below the phrase, police sad. The man is not Jewish.

Vehicle burglary

A 30-year-old woman in the 1300 block of Crystal Avenue reported that someone smashed the rear driver’s side window and stole an Apple Macbook Pro laptop.

Sunday, Oct. 9 

Fighting

Brian Richard Cottrell, 27, of the 6800 block of Westmoreland, Woodridge, was arrested at 1:23 a.m. in the 1900 block of Wisteria Court, police said. He was charged with fighting and criminal damage to property. His bond was $120.

Criminal trespass

Steven W. Kmiotek, 19, of the 1800 block of Helen Court, Wheaton, was arrested at 12:28 a.m. at the , 1350 Aurora Avenue, where he was charged with criminal trespass to land, police said. A woman found Kmiotek and three other men in her garage in the 700 block of Prairie Avenue on Friday night. He was later identified. His bond was $120.

Retail theft

William Denzel Hicks, 20, of the 1500 block of West Jefferson Avenue, was arrested at 2:08 p.m. at Walmart, 776 S. Route 59, where he was charged with retail theft, police said. His bond was $120.

Warrant arrest

Alfred Jeffrey Mayo, 42, of the 1200 block of Needham Road, was arrested at 1:15 p.m. at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 Aurora Avenue, where he was charged on an original warrant for retail theft, police said.

Disorderly conduct

Adam Barton Evans, 27, of the 30 block of Foxcroft Road, was arrested at 1:22 a.m. in the 1900 block of Wisteria Court, where he was charged with disorderly conduct, police said. His bond was $120.

Driving under the influence

  • Sanjay Saxena, 50, of the 7 South 500 block of Plainfield-Naperville Road, was arrested at 11:25 p.m. at North Route 59 and Liberty Street, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, disobeying a traffic control device and improper lane use. His bail was $3,000.
  • Brandon Joseph Gnat, 23, of the 5600 block of Snowdrop Lane, Lisle, was arrested at 3:31 a.m. at South Route 59 and 95th Street, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding over the limit. His bail was $3,000.
  • Adam Mitchell McVey, 33, of the 200 block of East 1st Street, Elmhurst, was arrested at 2:34 a.m. at Rickert Drive and Lonsdale Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, illegal possession of liquor by a driver and making an improper turn at an intersection. He was speeding 63 mph in a 40 mph zone. His bail was $3,000.
  • Juvenal Figueroa, 30, of the 600 block of Old Indian Trail, Aurora, was arrested at 1:19 a.m. in the 1600 block of West Diehl Road, where he was charged with aggravated driving under the influence and driving on a suspended/revoked license, police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Rachel Nicole Smith, 26, of the 1400 block of Eastwood Drive, Aurora, was arrested in the 700 block of Raymond Drive and Woodchuck Lane, police said. She was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding over the limit. Her bail was $3,000.
