Battle Of The Badges: NLPD Against NLFPD In Charity Softball Game
The New Lenox Police Department will face off against the New Lenox Fire Protection District in a charity softball game Sept. 18.
NEW LENOX, IL — Batter up for charity! The New Lenox Police Department and New Lenox Fire Protection District are scheduled to go head-to-head in a charity softball game Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. at Lincoln-Way West Softball field, 21701 Gougar Road in New Lenox.
The game is on after a couple-year hiatus. The NLFPD were the winners the last time the two teams slugged it out, but the NLPD had won the previous three games, so the stakes are high heading into this year's matchup.
"I think the cops are looking to get the trophy back," NLFPD Chief Adam Riegel said. "I think it'll be a close game, 15-13, but I think we'll win."
