Firearm Arrest, Theft At Target, DUI: New Lenox Blotter

Six arrests were made between July 20 and July 27 in New Lenox.

NEW LENOX, IL — This week, six people were arrested in New Lenox on charges ranging from driving with a revoked license to driving under the influence. All arrests in this report were taken from a New Lenox police report and anyone arrested is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Arrests:

David Martinez, 40, of Joliet, was arrested at 6:54 a.m. on July 20 and charged with Speeding/Driving While License Revoked.

Briana Chavez, 22, and Jacob Herrera, 20, both of Joliet, were arrested at 12:54 p.m. in New Lenox and charged with Retail Theft.

Kemo Lee, 23, of Chicago, was arrested at on July 20 at 7:43 p.m. and charged with Aggravated Use of a Firearm, Defacing Identification mark of Firearm, No Valid Registration and No Valid Driver's License.

Jacob Medina, 22, of Manhattan, Illinois, was arrested on July 22 at 1:46 a.m. and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

Anthony J. Greico, 27, of New Lenox, was arrested on July 22 at 3:17 p.m. on an outstanding warrant.

Blotter

At 5:39 p.m. on July 20, an officer was sent to the Target store in New Lenox after two vacuums, valued in full at $600, were stolen.

At 9:30 a.m. on July 20, an officer was sent to the 200 block of Whisper Creek Drive to take a report after someone reported their personal information was fraudulently used to apply for unemployment benefits.

At 11:30 a.m. on July 20, an officer was sent to the 800 block of Winter Park Drive after someone reported their personal information had been used to fraudulently apply for unemployment benefits.

At 2:48 p.m. on July 20, a resident in the 100 block of Whisper Creek Drive reported a check they left in their mailbox was taken, forged and made payable to someone else. An officer responded.

At 4:36 p.m. on July 20, a 700 block of Tauber Court resident reported to police that his or her personal information had been used to make a fraudulent withdrawal from their account.

At 10:25 a.m. on July 21, an officer was sent to the 1200 block of N. Cedar Road after someone reported their personal banking information had been used to make a withdrawal from their bank account.

At 10:06 a.m. on July 22, a 300 block of Hancock Drive resident reported someone had fraudulently reproduced a check to steal money.

At 8:17 a.m. on July 23, a resident of the 1600 block of Cimarron Drive reported they were the victim of identity theft.

At 8:42 a.m. on July 23, a 2200 block of Wellington Court resident contacted police to report their identity had been stolen and used to apply for unemployment benefits.

At 2:07 p.m. on July 23, a resident on the 18800 block of Spring Creek Drive reported a check had been taken from their mailbox, forged and made payable to someone else.

At 4:51 p.m. on July 24, a resident in the 600 block of Kristin Court reported his or her personal information had been used to fraudulently apply for unemployment benefits.

At 11:29 p.m. on July 25, a police officer was sent to the 7-Eleven store at 100 E. Lincoln Highway after a hold up alarm was received. Police arrived and spoke to an employee who said he was robbed at gunpoint by two men in masks, one with a handgun. The robbers took less than $100 and fled. The employee was not harmed.
