Home Fire Results In Damage, No Injuries: Fire Officials

NEW LENOX, IL — The New Lenox Fire Protection District responded Sunday to a call of a home on fire in the 2000 block of Rydal Street, according to fire district officials. The call was originally placed with the Manhattan Fire Protection District at approximately 9:15 p.m., and fire crews arrived within three minutes of the call, officials said.

When fire crews arrived at the scene they encountered a two-story home that was in flames, officials said. The fire was located in the rear of the home.

Fire crews put out the fire in approximately 37 minutes. No injuries were reported during the fire, and the occupants of the home were able to get out before the fire crews arrived, officials said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to officials.

Also responding to the fire were crews from Manhattan Fire Protection District, Frankfort Fire Protection District, East Joliet Fire Protection District, Lockport Fire Protection District, Northwest Homer Fire Protection District, Troy Fire Protection District and Manteno Fire Protection District, officials said.
