New Lenox Police Investigating After 7-Eleven Store Robbed​

Police said the store was robbed by two masked men, one carrying a handgun.

NEW LENOX, IL — Police in New Lenox are investigating an armed robbery that happened shortly before midnight on Saturday.

In a blotter item shared on Tuesday, New Lenox police said officers were sent to the 7-Eleven store at 100 E. Lincoln Highway at 11:29 p.m. after a store worker triggered an alarm alerting that the store was being held up.

The two robbers involved had fled before officers arrived, but the store cashier described them as two men wearing masks, one armed with a handgun, police said.

The robbers made off with less than $100 in cash, according to the police report. The store cashier was not hurt in the robbery.
