Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Metra Train ID'd As New Lenox Man, 45
The incident happened Monday morning just south of Joliet Highway.
NEW LENOX, IL — A pedestrian hit and killed by a Metra train Monday morning in New Lenox has been identified as a 45-year-old New Lenox man.
Joshua A. Doss, 45, was struck by a northbound Metra train less than a mile south of Joliet Highway, the Will County Coroner's Office reported. Doss was pronounced dead at 7:50 a.m.
Metra reported earlier Monday that SouthWest Service train #802 had hit a pedestrian at about 6 a.m. near Joliet Highway, halting inbound and outbound service near Laraway Road. Metra police are investigating the incident.
