Water Main Break At Oakview Drive: Officials

Village officials said the repair may take a minimum of two hours.

NEW LENOX, IL — Village of New Lenox officials are advising residents of a water main break Friday at Oakview Drive between Cedar Road and Cooper Road in New Lenox. Public Works Director Brian Williams said it may take at least two hours for crews to repair the break.

Residents were alerted at 7:18 a.m. via an email alert from the Village. Williams said crews were dispatched and are currently working on the break.

The cause for the recent breaks may be related to the age of the pipes, Williams said. The Village is currently in the process of replacing older pipes that date back to the 1960s and 1970s, he said.

The Village told residents in the Oakview Drive area that they may have lower than usual water pressure until repairs are made, and to use caution when driving in that area.
