Cook County police arrested a man accused of stealing from a cancer treatment facility this week.

COOK COUNTY, IL — A 23-year-old Chicago man who had been staying at a cancer treatment center in Cook County over the weekend was charged with burglary after he was found with items stolen from the facility, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's police responded to a call of a burglary in progress at 7 a.m. on Monday at the Illinois Specialists Center in unincorporated Maine Township. At the facility, officers said they found the suspect wearing facility t-shirt, identified as Leon Walker, in possession of a screwdriver, cash, three company credit cards and 14 gift cards.
"Upon further investigation, Detectives learned that Walker, who neither was a patient nor an employee, entered the center sometime over the weekend and had been staying there," officials said in a statement.
