Village Awards Contract for Arts Master Plan
The Lakota Group is contracted to complete the Niles Arts & Culture Master Plan.

Village trustees awarded a $29,994 contract towards the Niles Arts & Culture Master Plan. The Lakota Group is contracted to complete the village’s master plan, sign and wayfinding plan, according to Journal & Topics. Several public open houses will take place along the next several months to gain input along village stakeholders.
When the village adopted its 2030 Comprehensive Plan in 2011, it called for greater public art and an arts and culture corridor. Since then, an arts and culture commission including representatives of the Niles Park District, library, village and several school districts was formed.
Arts & Culture Chairwoman Lindsay Brubaker said the commission is eager to see the completed report provide guidance on what types of art community members want.
