For the third straight year and fifth time overall, a team of students from Shepard High School won first place at the Moraine Valley Community College Culinary Competition.
Instructors from MVCC and chefs from area restaurants serve as judges in the blind competition. Teams of students from nine area high schools prepared salads, entrees, and desserts with the overall highest score winning first place.
The Shepard team of Jan Jablonski, Karolina Kisielewski, and Keith Moser also took first place in the Salad and Entrée categories.
