Oak Park Officials: No New Coronavirus Cases Reported
For the first time since March 25, no new cases of COVID-19 have been reported among Oak Park residents.
OAK PARK, IL—For the first time since March 25, no new cases of COVID-19 have been reported among residents, Oak Park's Public Health Director announced Wednesday.
According to state data, 293 Oak Park residents have tested positive since the first case was reported here on March 18. The total was adjusted Wednesday after a case was added from May 15 that had been missed.
Illinois is opening its community-based COVID-19 testing sites to anyone to get tested, regardless of symptoms or criteria.

Public Health officials said testing is crucial to identifying new cases and taking immediate action to prevent additional spread. No appointment, doctor referral or insurance is needed at state operated drive-thru sites, and testing is available at no cost to the individual.
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is also recommending anyone who has been part of a mass gathering, including rallies and protests over the past week, get tested for COVID-19.
