Firearm Reported By Parent Turns Out To Be Pellet Gun: Oswego PD

"No criminal activity or threats occurred," police said.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police on Sunday night looked to shut down rumors by setting the record straight about a "firearm" reported by a parent. Police said the department received a call Sunday from a parent who found what they believed to be a firearm in their child's possession.

The item was turned over to Oswego, police, who determined it to be a "CO2 pellet gun."

"No criminal activity or threats occurred," police said, adding, "We are sharing this information as we are aware of rumors that have been spreading about the call."
