Undisclosed Amount Of Money Stolen In Burger King Burglary: Oswego Police

An employee called Oswego police, who were dispatched to the restaurant to find the door had been forced open.

OSWGEO, IL — An undisclosed amount of money was stolen early Friday morning in a burglary at Burger King, Oswego police said.

An employee of the fast-food restaurant at 2320 Route 34 called 911 at about 5:54 a.m. to report the burglary that had already occurred. Officers arrived to find the door to the restaurant had been forced open, according to an update.

The staff member discovered the incident while opening the business, police said. Burger King typically opens at 6 a.m. Investigators believe the money was stolen between 11:30 p.m. Thursday and 5:15 a.m. Friday.

The Oswego Police Department published an alert at 8:22 a.m. to alert the community that officers were on the scene of the burglary. No injuries were reported.

Officers remained on the scene for about three hours and canvassed nearby businesses. As of Friday afternoon, authorities said no suspect description is available.
