Oswego Village Board Race: Republicans Sweep Mayor, Trustee Seats

Village President Gail Johnson is projected to lose to Republican Troy T. Parlier.

OSWEGO, IL — It appears Oswego will soon have a new village president. After serving one term, Village President Gail Johnson is projected to have been defeated by Republican Troy T. Parlier by a 230-vote margin. Parlier is an eighth-grade math teacher at Thompson Junior High School.

Johnson, elected in 2015, also faced a challenge from Joe West, who currently sits on the village board.

Oswego Village President

  • Troy T. Parlier (R): 2,244 votes, 43.67 percent
  • Joe West (I): 881 votes, 17.14 percent
  • Incumbent Gail Johnson (I): 2,014 votes, 39.19 percent

Meanwhile, incumbent trustees Karin McCarthy-Lange and Ryan Kauffman are projected to lose their seats to newcomers.
