Food Recall: More Than 700K Pounds Of Spaghetti And Meatball Products Pulled By Conagra

The Chicago-based company is pulling the products because their labels don't list milk as an ingredient.

CHICAGO, IL — Conagra Brands is recalling more than 700,000 pounds of spaghetti and meatball products because their labels don't mention that they contain a known allergen, the US Department of Agriculture's Food and Safety Inspection Service announced Friday. The affected products contain milk, but that ingredient, which can be an allergen to some, is not listed on the labels, the USDA said in a release.

The spaghetti and meatball products were made by the Chicago-based company on Jan. 5 and Jan. 12, and they were shipped to warehouses for distribution and retail locations across the country. The recalled products have an establishment number of "EST. 794M" inside the USDA mark of inspection. (Get Patch real-time email alerts for the latest news for Chicago — or your neighborhood. Conagra discovered the issue on Tuesday, June 6, after the company was notified by an ingredient supplier that bread crumbs used in the recalled products contained milk, the USDA said. No reports of adverse reactions after eating the recalled products have been received by Conagra or the USDA.

The USDA advises consumers with the recalled products to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. Anyone with questions about the recall can call Conagra 866-213-1245.
