UPDATE: Funeral Services This Weekend for Longtime Local Educator Richard Bokor
Richard Bokor of Palatine passed away on January 4, 2015. He was a career educator and vice president of the District 15 school board.

A funeral service for a long-time local educator who died suddenly on Sunday will be held this weekend.
Richard Bokor worked for 9 years in District 15, 25 years in District 211, and more than 10 years at National-Louis University as an Adjunct Professor. He most recently served as the vice president of the District 15 school board.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway in Palatine. Family and friends will meet Saturday, Jan. 10, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 W. Palatine Road in Inverness, for a visitation from 11 to 11:45 a.m.

A funeral mass will follow at 12 p.m. and interment will be private, according to Bokor’s obituary.
Among his many accomplishments and community and educational involvements, Bokor was a Master Board Member (highest recognition status by IASB), a Board Political Action Representative for four years, appointed to the Palatine Citizen Corps Council by Mayor Jim Schwantz, a Co-Chair of the Bridge Youth & Family Services 2011 Peter Cunneen Golf Outing and Dinner (major fund raising activity for an organization that works with many children of District 15), and president for eight years of the Sutton Park Place Association.

Bokor leaves behind his wife Ann, three adult children and several grandchildren.
