Palatine To Host Family Gingerbread House Decorating Event
Bring your family to the Birchwood Gym on Dec. 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for an evening of gingerbread fun!
PALATINE, IL — Looking for something fun to do with the kids for the holidays? The Palatine Park District has you and your family covered.
Bring your family to the Birchwood Gym on Dec. 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for an evening of gingerbread fun!
Each family will get an already assembled gingerbread house to decorate with an assortment of frostings and candies.

Family and their children will also have an opportunity to learn how to to make a tree from an Airhead candy or a wreathe from Toosie Rolls.
"Get creative because we are going to photograph your house and will let the Facebook community vote for their favorite one!" the park district said on its official Facebook page.

The house with the most "likes' will receive a $15 gift card! End the night with a fun gingerbread craft activity. The event includes one house per family and gingerbread craft per child.
