Peoria County Seal Coating Begins Next Week

The Peoria County Highway Department is scheduled to sealcoat portions of Sheridan Road, Glen Avenue, and Gale Avenue starting Monday, August 31. The Highway Department is coordinating closely with city of Peoria Public Works crews for assistance with detour routes, flagging, and sweeping.

Please note this schedule is subject to change based on equipment and conditions. Maps are attached.

• Monday, August 31: Sheridan Road, between Glen Avenue and Northmoor RoadThis road will be closed for a short period of time while crews are sealcoating. A detour will be posted.
• Tuesday, September 1: Glen Avenue, between Knoxville Avenue and Sheridan Road This road will remain open to traffic during sealcoating. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to avoid the area if possible.
• Tuesday, September 1 and Wednesday, September 2: Gale Avenue, between Sterling Avenue and Hudson StreetCrews intend to begin Gale Ave on Tuesday and finish on Wednesday. The road will remain open to traffic during sealcoating. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to avoid the area if possible.

We ask that motorists take extra caution in all work zones and be aware of loose gravel and fresh oil.
