Workers began to dig through the road surface surrounding the tracks on Wednesday, August 19, and discovered the cause is likely due to aging railroad ties that have rotted and are no longer able to hold the steel tracks in place. Crews are actively working to remove the steel and replace nearly 500 square feet of the roadway.
