PLAINFIELD, IL — The Commercial Street Criterium Cycling Race is returning to the streets of Plainfield on Aug. 23.

The cycling competition was first held in Plainfield last year, featuring several competitive individual cycling races. Mayor John Argoudelis compared the inaugural event to Nascar since each race tracks how many times an hour a cyclist can go around the course.

For the second-annual race, also hosted by xXx Racing, registration is limited to 500 cyclists across nine categories.
