Dangerous Heat On The Way: Cooling Centers Near Plainfield
Here's where to stay cool if you find yourself without air conditioning amid the 90-degree weather forecast this week.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Extremely hot and potentially stormy weather is predicted this week, and that includes Plainfield. A heat advisory will take effect for the entire Chicago area from noon Tuesday to 8 p.m. Wednesday as heat indexes of 105 to 109 are possible, according to the National Weather Service.
Two rounds of storms are also expected Monday. AccuWeather describes the afternoon thunderstorm threat as severe, while Monday night could bring "gusty" thunderstorms, Patch reported.
