Flooding Causes Road Closures In Plainfield
Flooding in various parts of Plainfield leads to road closures.

PLAINFIELD, IL—Flooding was at issue Wednesday morning for many commuters in and around Plainfield. Officials for the Plainfield Police Department and Plainfield Emergency Management Agency are monitoring the flooding situation.
127th Street east of Ridge Road was closed to traffic, but it is now open, according to a Plainfield Police Department Facebook post. 127th Street west of Route 59 remains closed due to high water.
Other roadways impacted by the flooding include Marybrook Drive, Lily Cache Road north of Caton Farm Road and County Line Road in several places north of Caton Farm Road and Renwick Road east of County Line Road.

The DuPage River near Plainfield is at 13.3 feet, according to the National Weather Service. The flood stage is 12 feet.
Flooding is nothing to the area.

Recent crests rose to 12.54 feet in June 2015, 14.09 feet in October 2017 and 13.16 feet in February 2018, according to the national weather service.
Forecasts show much of the rain has passed the area, but additional showers and possible storms are expected Wednesday through Thursday.
