Fuse'd Opens In Plainfield: 'Embark On A Culinary Odyssey'

PLAINFIELD, IL — The restaurant space formerly belonging to Tap House Grill in downtown Plainfield is up and running again as of Wednesday.
Fuse'd is the latest concept from the Major Threat Restaurant Group, which also operates Khaos Brewcade, Craft'd and Chop'd in the village. It began serving hungry diners Wednesday afternoon.
As of opening day, reservations were required for table service, and bar seating is first-come, first-served.

"Opening went great," Fuse'd founder Corey Knowles told Patch on Thursday. "The vibe was really good, high energy. I think people liked the smooth ambiance. It's kind of warm in there with music and lights and fire."
Fuse'd, at 24402 W. Lockport St., across from Village Hall, took over the space formerly occupied by Tap House Grill, which closed suddenly in January. The new restaurant's website urges guests to "embark on a culinary odyssey ... where global flavors and a warm welcome await."

The menu at Fuse'd features a little bit of everything, from pizza, handhelds and wings to salads and bowls. Appetizers include dishes such as crab cakes, lamb meatballs, conch fritters and wagyu bites.
Knowles described his new venture as "a piece of downtown [Chicago] without the travel or prices."
"I couldn't find a real tagline because I think we're doing something new here," he said. "Global flavors, innovative cocktails, I think that's the area that we land in."
