Halloween Enforcement Nets 42 Tickets: Plainfield Police

Plainfield police participated in the Halloween "Click It or Ticket" campaign to ensure drivers and passengers were properly buckled up.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police took to the streets during the Halloween season to make sure drivers were properly buckled up. The two-week-long enforcement campaign yielded 42 tickets, officials announced Saturday.

The Halloween "Click It or Ticket" initiative lasted from Oct. 18 to Nov. 1. Plainfield officers teamed up with Illinois State Police and other local agencies for the statewide campaign.

In a news release, Plainfield police said it was a successful campaign. Here's a look at the breakdown of citations issued:

  • 32 for seat belt violations
  • 2 for child safety seat violations
  • 6 for speeding
  • 2 for no insurance or registration

The holiday enforcement was paid for using funds provided by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
