Hearing Planned For Proposed I-55 Improvement Project In Will County
The proposed project would include updates to Interstate 55 at Lorenzo Road and Route 129 in Will County.
WILL COUNTY, IL — The Illinois Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing Aug. 15 to discuss a proposed project to improve a portion of Interstate 55 in Will County.
Work would focus on I-55 at Lorenzo Road and Route 129. The project would include interchange reconstruction, drainage improvements and the addition of auxiliary lanes. West Frontage Road at Lorenzo Road and north of Kavanaugh Road would also permanently close as a result.
The purpose of the hearing is to inform the community about the project's development process, present the proposed design and obtain public input. Exhibits will be on display, and an audio-visual presentation will be shown continuously.

The meeting will take place from 3-6 p.m. at the William E. Dugan Training Center, Local 150, 19800 West South Arsenal Road in Wilmington.
A court reporter will be present to take verbal statements, but for those who can't attend or want to make written statements, comments can be submitted to lorenzoIL129study@gmail.com. All comments received by Sept. 16 will become part of the official hearing record.
