PLAINFIELD, IL — A traffic safety enforcement campaign is underway for Labor Day in Plainfield, police said.
The Plainfield Police Department kicked off the effort on Aug. 16, and it's slated to end during the early morning hours of Sept. 3, encompassing Labor Day.
The campaign aims to reduce impaired driving and other hazardous driving behaviors, such as distracted driving and failure to use seat belts, using slogans including "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over," "If You Feel Different, You Drive Different," "Drive High Get a DUI" and "Click It or Ticket." The Plainfield Police Department is teaming up with Illinois State Police and other local enforcement agencies for the effort paid for using federal dollars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
