Loaded Pistol Found In Car Searched At Thornton’s Gas Station: Plainfield Police
A man was first charged with a DUI after police witnessed him reclining in the driver's seat while parked across two spots, officials said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A pistol was found in a car that was searched Tuesday night in the parking lot of Thornton's, Plainfield police said.
Officers first approached the car at about 11:45 p.m. after they noticed it parked diagonally across two parking spots outside the gas station, located at 15800 S. Route 59. The driver was reclined in the front seat, and police spoke with him to see if he needed help and why the car was parked incorrectly, Sgt. Luke Ostreko told Patch.
While speaking to the driver, identified as Marshawn Henderson, the officer "observed multiple signs of impairment" that prompted an investigation. As a result, the 53-year-old resident of Aurora was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
