Lockdown At Heritage Grove Middle School Was ‘Accidental Activation’

Plainfield police responded midday to the middle school for an activated lockdown alarm.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Heritage Grove Middle School was put on lockdown Tuesday after an alarm was accidentally activated, the Plainfield Police Department said.

Officers were dispatched to the school, located at 12425 S. Van Dyke Road, at about noon for an activated lockdown alarm. Police met with staff and “quickly” determined it to be an accidental incident.

After walking through the building, officers released the lockdown and gave the green light for students and staff to continue with the school day, according to police’s news release published on Facebook.
