New 'Click It Or Ticket' Campaign Underway For Labor Day: Plainfield Police
The Plainfield Police Department is joining more than 200 other law enforcement agencies for the Labor Day campaign.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police have launched a new "Click It or Ticket" campaign, this time encompassing Labor Day.
From Aug. 15 into the early morning hours of Sept. 2, the Plainfield Police Department will be "out in force" enforcing seat belt laws and other traffic laws to curb "dangerous driving behaviors," officials said in a news release Friday.
The department will be one of more than 200 other law enforcement agencies participating in the statewide effort led by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

"Buckling up is the most effective way to prevent serious injury or death in a crash," the release reads. "Everyone in the vehicle — front seat or back — should be properly buckled, every trip."
Plainfield police's last enforcement took place for three weeks in July in an effort to stop speeding. From July 8 to Aug. 1, officers issued 62 tickets, Patch reported.
