PLAINFIELD, IL — Jack in the Box will soon be serving customers in the Plainfield area and beyond.

A new franchise is set to open in June, according to the restaurant's website. It will be located at 2101 S. Route 59 in Plainfield, near the Joliet city line.

Plainfield's Jack in the Box is one of as many as 10 new Illinois locations and will likely be open 24 hours a day, featuring the chain's well-known "24/7 craveable menu," Patch reported. It will also have a drive-thru lane.

The new restaurant is on track to open despite the company announcing it would close between 150 and 200 underperforming Jack in the Box locations across the country, Vice President Chris Brandon announced. The "Jack on Track" plan is intended to help accelerate cash flow and pay down debt, the company said.

Up to 120 restaurants will close by Dec. 31, Brandon said, with the remaining underperforming stores closing based on franchise agreement termination dates.

"Upon completion of the program, Jack in the Box expects to deliver consistent, positive net unit growth, helped by the strong performance of new markets and tremendous whitespace opportunities," a news release reads.
