Plainfield Garbage Pickup Changes Due To Extreme Heat

Waste Management is altering its pick-up schedule Wednesday and Thursday due to the extreme heat in the forecast.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Waste Management is altering its Plainfield pick-up schedule Wednesday and Thursday due to the extreme heat in the forecast, village officials announced.

Service will begin earlier than normal on both days, so residents are being asked to make sure refuse, recycling and yard waste are at the curb by 5 a.m.

The National Weather Service issued an extreme heat watch for more than a dozen counties in northern Illinois, including Will, that will be in effect from Wednesday morning through Thursday evening.

The high for Wednesday and Thursday is 98 degrees, and the peak heat index value during that extreme heat watch timeframe will be 115 degrees, Patch reported.

The week is forecast to close out with chances of stormy weather as a cold front approaches the region, according to the National Weather Service.
