Museum curators are always looking for donations of items relating to Plainfield, Tina Beaird, the museum operations chairman, told Patch in June. They collect anything related to Plainfield — from current-day artifacts to Barbies and erector sets.

She also said items can also come from surrounding areas, including Bolingbrook, Naperville and Oswego, as well, since they could have Plainfield connections to them.

"We're always collecting the things people consider to be historic artifacts," she told Patch. "History happens every single day. We create history every single day."

Any questions can be directed to the museum at 815-436-4073.
