The Plainfield Community Alliance is thrilled to announce the launch of the Plainfield Kindness Contest, an exciting community-wide initiative aimed at celebrating and promoting kindness in creative ways. Open to participants of all ages, from kindergarteners to centenarians, the contest seeks to inspire individuals to express their understanding of kindness through poetry, art, photography, and essays.
Plainfield Mayor John Argoudelis who encouraged the formation of the Plainfield Community Alliance in 2023 said "Plainfield is a community that thrives on compassion and generosity. This contest is a wonderful way to celebrate the kindness that makes our town special."
"Kindness has the power to transform our communities. Through this contest, we hope to highlight the many ways kindness can be expressed and inspire others to make a positive impact." said Joan Caton, coordinator of the contest and a co-founder of the PCA.
Mohammed Faheem, the other co-founder of the PCA added "encouraging kindness and creativity is vital for building a strong and connected community. We invite everyone to participate and share their vision of kindness."
Submissions for the contest are due by April 22, and entry forms are available online at www.plainfieldilca.com now and will be available at the Plainfield Library after April 2nd. Complete contest details, including submission guidelines for different age groups, can be found on the Plainfield Community Alliance website.
To recognize outstanding expressions of kindness, first and second prizes will be awarded in all categories.
The Plainfield Community Alliance is also seeking sponsors to help promote and support this inspiring initiative. Businesses, organizations, and individuals interested in sponsorship opportunities are encouraged to reach out.
