Plainfield Memorial Day Parade: See Route, Road Closures
The American Legion Marne Post 13 will host its annual Memorial Day parade in Plainfield.
PLAINFIELD, IL — The American Legion Marne Post 13 will host its annual Memorial Day parade on Monday in Plainfield.
The procession is scheduled to take off at 10:45 at Ira Jones Middle School and head toward the memorial within Settlers' Park, where a wreath-laying ceremony, rifle salute and band performances will follow.
From the school, located at 15320 Wallin Drive, the parade will travel east on Ottawa Street, enter Settlers' Park near the intersection of Van Dyke Road and Ottawa Street and continue east through the park.

The following roads will close at about 10:30 a.m. and remain closed until the parade reaches the memorial at about 11 a.m.:
- Wallin Drive at Ottawa Street
- Ottawa Street from Wallin Drive to Van Dyke Road
- Van Dyke Road at Ottawa Street
Parking will also be restricted on the parade route from 10-11 a.m.

A limited amount of parking will be available at Village Hall and along Village Center Drive. Additional parking can be found on Van Dyke Road south of Ottawa Street and at Ira Jones Middle School. Handicapped parking can be found in the Village Hall parking lot.
