Street Closures Announced For 2025 Plainfield Fest

Streets will close to accommodate the three-day festival, bringing a carnival, a beer tent, craft vendors and more to downtown Plainfield.

PLAINFIELD, IL — With Plainfield Fest about two weeks out, police announced which streets will close to accommodate festival activities, including the carnival, entertainment area and beer tent.

Different activities will be held in different areas in a section of downtown Plainfield:

  • The entertainment area, which will include live music, will be in the Plainfield Township Community Center and the Village of Plainfield municipal parking lot, 15014 S. Des Plaines St.
  • Food vendors will be set up in the municipal parking lot, located at the southwest corner of Lockport and Des Plaines streets.
  • Craft vendors and the petting zoo will be located in the Village Green.
  • The carnival will run in the parking lot at Plainfield Central High School, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive.

These streets will close to accommodate the three-day festival:

  • Lockport Street from Route 59 to James Street
    • Noon June 27 through 12:30 a.m. June 29
  • Des Plaines Street from Chicago to Main streets (only local traffic will be allowed from Main to Oak streets
    • 7 a.m. June 27 through 7 p.m. June 29
  • Chicago Street from Des Plaines to Fox River streets
    • Noon June 27 through 7 p.m. June 29

Handicapped parking for the entertainment area will be located along the west side of Des Plaines Street north of Oak Street as well as on the north side of Oak Street between Des Plaines and Illinois streets. For the carnival, accessible parking will be available in the high school parking lot near the entrance to the carnival.

Police are encouraging festgoers using ride-share options to come and go using Illinois Street at Oak Street to avoid congestion directly in front of the gated entrance.

Additional parking will be available at the Plainfield Riverfront Park, Village Hall, Plainfield Public Library and Plainfield Central High School.
