The Forest Preserve District of Will County has added six nature-themed T-shirts to a newly redesigned merchandise website, OutsiderThreads.com.

To celebrate the Independence Day holiday, shoppers can receive 15% off an order of $25 or more through July 6 by using the promo code July15 at checkout.

  • Toad-ally adorable (toddler), toad
  • Born to roam (toddler), bobcat
  • Fawned over (toddler), deer
  • Hiss-terical (youth), snake

“The goal with the refreshed website is to improve the user experience and make the shopping experience as seamless as possible,” said Chad Merda, the Forest Preserve’s head of digital marketing strategy and engagement. “The updated design better highlights our most popular shirts and puts them front and center, where they should be.”

New menu categories also make it easier to find specific items by clothing style or theme.

“We’ve also added the ability to filter by size and color, adding another key step to finding the perfect shirt,” Merda said.

The redesigned website better showcases the mission behind OutsiderThreads.com.

“These shirts are cute and clever, but the driving force behind the online store is to raise funds for The Nature Foundation of Will County,” Merda said. “All proceeds from sales go to the Foundation to fund education, recreation and conservation programs, so your purchase – no matter how big or small – makes a difference.”

In addition to T-shirts, the merchandise site also offers hats, magnets and a hat-and-coffee-mug combo. And if you haven't visited OutsiderThreads.com before, check out the raccoon, hummingbird, beaver, turtle and opossum themed shirts that nature fans have been stocking up on for months.
